Lesson 1 of 4 · 12 min
Creation & Fall
The Bible opens not with rules, but with a gift: a good world, made by a good God, given to people made in His image (Genesis 1–2). Work, rest, marriage, food, beauty — all of it was blessed.
What went wrong
Genesis 3 tells how humanity chose to trust the serpent's words over God's — to decide good and evil for ourselves. The result was fracture: shame between people and God, blame between people, and a world now marked by thorns and death.
The first promise
Even in the moment of judgment, God made a promise: an offspring of the woman would one day crush the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15). The rest of the Bible is the story of God keeping that promise.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
