Bow Gladly Before the True Lord

“every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Philippians 2:11

Read Philippians 2:9–11. Notice the Father’s response to the Son’s obedience: Jesus is highly exalted, every knee bows, and every tongue confesses that he is Lord.

Jesus’ path through humility and the cross does not end in defeat. The Father exalts him and gives him the name above every name. Paul’s words echo Isaiah 45, where every knee bows before the Lord. Here that confession is centered on Jesus.

Practice

Ask where pride is delaying your obedience. Is there a grudge you are protecting, an apology you owe, a habit you are hiding, or a decision you keep postponing? Write it down, confess it to Jesus, and take one concrete step before the day ends.

Prayer

Jesus Christ, you are Lord. I gladly place my life under your authority. Show me where pride has resisted you, give me courage to obey, and let my life bring glory to the Father.
