Devotion
Let Your Scar Become Someone Else’s Hope
“I will take care of you and your children.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.”
Genesis 50:21
Joseph’s healing moves outward. He does not use his power to punish. He comforts the people who hurt him and becomes part of their preservation.
Genesis 50 ends with more than Joseph surviving his suffering. God has formed him into someone who can speak kindly, extend mercy, and protect life. His scar becomes part of someone else’s hope.
Practice
Ask God who might need the hope He has been growing in you. Choose one wise action: send a note, share part of your story, pray with someone, or simply listen without trying to fix them. Keep the focus on God’s faithfulness, not on making yourself the hero.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for meeting me in my wounds. Use what You are healing in me to bring comfort and hope to someone else. Give me wisdom to share my story with humility and point people toward Your grace. Amen.
