Devotion

Remember What You Share

“thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”

Philippians 2:2

Read Philippians 2:1–2. List the gifts Paul names: encouragement in Christ, consolation of love, fellowship with the Spirit, affection, and mercy. These are not distant possibilities. They are gifts the church has already received.

Paul begins his appeal for unity by reminding the Philippians of grace. He does not start with everything they are doing wrong. He starts with what Jesus has already given them.

Practice

Think about one strained relationship with another believer. Before reviewing the disagreement again, write down what you share in Christ. Pray for that person by name. If a conversation is needed, ask: “What response would honor Jesus and help us love each other well?”

Prayer

Father, thank you for the encouragement, love, fellowship, affection, and mercy I have received in Christ. Let those gifts shape the way I treat your people, especially when agreement is difficult.
