Devotion
Seeing their faith
“Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:5
"Seeing their faith." Not his. Theirs.
This is the line that holds the whole week together. The man on the mat says nothing in this entire story — not one recorded word. We don't know what he believed that morning. What Jesus responds to is the faith He can see: four men, sweating, covered in roof dust, lowering their friend into a room they weren't invited into. Faith in Scripture is rarely a private feeling. Here it has hands and a rope.
Practice
There are two ways to live in this verse today, and you probably need one of them.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You that You see faith even when it isn't mine. Where I'm strong, let my faith hold someone else up. Where I'm empty, give me the humility to say so out loud and let my people carry me. I'm grateful I don't have to walk in alone. Amen.
