Three changes designed to strengthen belonging and make the next step clearer for every person in our groups.
Where this fits
One church, one pathway
Sunday morning is where people believe. Community Groups are where belief turns into belonging—real relationships, real care, and real family. From there, groups point people toward becoming through Discipleship Groups and eventually building by leading and sending others.
New this fall
4-Week Belong Curriculum
Every group—brand new or years old—will walk through the same four sessions at the start of the semester. This video-plus-discussion series gives every group the same vision, commitments, and weekly rhythm: Look Back, Look Up, and Look Forward.

Community is family, not a program (Acts 2:42–47).

Every group adopts the same rhythm and shares the load—no one leads alone.

After the intro series
Sermon-Based Discussion Questions
We are encouraging—not requiring—every group to use the church-provided discussion guide built from Sunday’s sermon instead of choosing separate curriculum.
- Keeps everyone engaging the same truth at the same time.
- Eases leader preparation with our shared Look Back / Look Up / Look Forward rhythm.
- Focuses our groups on obedience, not information alone: “What am I going to do about it this week?”
If you feel strongly about taking your group in a different direction, let’s have a conversation. This is encouraged in most situations, not mandatory.
New and current leaders
Group Leader Application
Every new leader will complete a full application before leading. We are also asking every current leader to complete it—not because we do not trust you, but because the standard for leading needs to be clear across the board.
The application helps us:
- Ensure theological agreement on foundational issues.
- Ensure leaders are spiritually mature and qualified to teach and lead.
- Understand each leader’s strengths and weaknesses so we can help them grow.
What we’re asking of you
- 1. Run all four intro sessions in order at the start of the semester.
- 2. Consider using the sermon discussion guides for your group curriculum this fall.
- 3. Complete the leader application—new and current leaders alike.
