Courage in the Valley

We all face giants — fear, finances, sickness, addiction, the unknown — that feel impossible to overcome on our own. In Week 2 of The Story of David, we step into 1 Samuel 17 and the showdown with Goliath and discover that courage isn't the absence of fear; it's knowing who fights for you. David didn't rise to the moment — he fell back on years of quiet faithfulness and the memory of God's past rescue, then ran at the giant in the name of the Lord. Ultimately, David points us to Jesus: the unlikely Champion who defeated the real giant — sin and death — in our place. Because He won that battle, we can face every lesser giant. The battle is the Lord's.
