Courage in the Valley

Every one of us faces giants — fear, finances, sickness, an addiction we can't seem to break — that feel impossible to beat on our own. In 1 Samuel 17 a shepherd boy runs toward Goliath, not in his own name but in the name of the Lord, because years of quiet, private faithfulness had taught him who really fights for us. In the end David points us to Jesus, the true Champion who stepped onto the battlefield alone and defeated the real giant — sin and death — in our place. Because He won that battle, you can face every lesser giant with courage.
