Faithful in the Wilderness

Nobody likes to wait — and the waiting gets heavy when the stakes are real: a diagnosis, a job decision, a prayer that still hasn't been answered. In 1 Samuel 24, David has carried God's promise of the throne for over a decade when Saul, the king hunting him, walks unguarded into the very cave where David is hiding. It looks like the shortcut of a lifetime, but David refuses to take Saul's life — choosing integrity over opportunity and trusting God with both the timing and the justice. His example reminds us that an open door isn't always God's will, that character is formed in the waiting, and that God hasn't forgotten you — He's preparing you.
